G4S India supports Environment through Painting Exhibition

With the objective of spreading awareness about environment in the society, G4S India sponsored a painting exhibition on environment - TellusArt. The exhibition highlighted issues like Global Warming through paintings and drawings by children and young people from various countries of the world.

The exhibition was held at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi from 22nd - 26th February 2009. A workshop on Global Warming, Nature and Environment was also organised during the exhibition.
 
All the paintings contributed very innovatively towards the theme, “Save Environment”. Every painting was focused on global warming and its deadly effects. It was heartening to see that children cared so much about the environment. With such young adults, our future surely is in safe hands.

 Children from countries like Sweden, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka participated in the exhibition. Several leading Swedish artists also accompanied the TellusArt Team to participate in the workshop.

TellusArt is a non-government organisation, headquartered in Sweden. It comprises of several art-enthusiasts from all over the world. It provides upcoming artists a global platform to showcase their creativity through exhibitions, workshops and projects related to arts.

Celebration of World Environment Week to save the Environment

World Environment Day (WED) is a day that stimulates awareness about the environment and enhances political attention and public action.

G4S started a campaign to celebrate World Environment Week where each zonal & branch offices marked a day to plant indoor and outdoor trees either for their workstations or their premises.

The week started with the plantation by our Regional President, Mr. David I. Hudson, MBE & Regional Managing Director, Ms. Rupal Sinha on 2nd June, 2010. It was followed by plantation in each branch. It was heartening to see the overwhelming response by each member of G4S Family.

Each G4S Family member including direct and indirect staff actively participated on the special day, and helped us to make it a huge success.
