Renovation of Historically Significant Sites
G4S has been actively supporting reconstruction of socially relevant sites and inspiring a sense of civic duty amongst community members.
The renovation of the Nicholson Cemetery is one such step.
G4S undertakes the construction & repair work of the boundary wall, laying of pathways and provides good living conditions to the caretakers.
The cemetery is spread over nine acres of land. Since no substantial maintenance work was carried out in the last 40--50 years, the area was completely covered with a thick under-growth and jungle. The dense cover of tall grass, shrubs and bushes removed, pathways were laid out and the boundary wall was repaired and at certain places height was increased.
There are two caretakers living within the cemetery. Their living quarters were also restored.
